1. General Agreement

By booking a moving service with Longwood Movers, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, and you acknowledge that you have read and understood them. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.

These Terms apply to all services provided by Longwood Movers, including, but not limited to, residential moving, commercial moving, long-distance moving, local moving, and storage services.

2. Services Provided

Longwood Movers offers a range of moving services, including:

  • Local Moving: Moving services within the local area or within a specific radius from the origin address.
  • Long-Distance Moving: Moving services for relocations across state lines or to distant locations.
  • Commercial Moving: Office, business, and industrial moving services.
  • Residential Moving: Household and apartment moving services.
  • Moving and Storage: Temporary or long-term storage solutions for your belongings.

3. Booking and Reservation

To book a moving service with Longwood Movers, customers must complete the online booking form, provide accurate information, and agree to these Terms and Conditions. By making a reservation, you authorize Longwood Movers to charge the credit card or payment method on file for the agreed-upon price.

A reservation is considered confirmed once the customer receives an official confirmation email from Longwood Movers with the details of the booked move, including the date, time, and service to be provided.

4. Payment Terms

  • Deposit: A deposit may be required at the time of booking to secure your moving date. The deposit amount will be deducted from the final bill on the day of your move.
  • Final Payment: The full payment is due upon completion of the moving services. We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards, checks, and cash.
  • Additional Charges: Additional charges may apply in the following cases:
    • If the move requires extra time due to the complexity or size of the job.
    • For packing materials, labor, or services that were not initially agreed upon.
    • If access to your property is restricted or difficult (e.g., narrow streets, high-rise buildings, or long walks from the truck to the entrance).
    • If storage services are requested or required.
    • If there are any damages caused by an unforeseen event during the move.

All rates are subject to change based on specific circumstances. Longwood Movers will provide an updated quote in such cases, and additional charges will be clearly explained.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • Cancellations: If you need to cancel or reschedule your move, please notify us at least 48 hours before your scheduled move date. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in a cancellation fee.
  • Rescheduling: You may reschedule your move up to 48 hours before the original scheduled date, subject to availability. Rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of your move may incur an additional fee.
  • No Show: If you fail to show up for the scheduled move without prior notice, a no-show fee will be charged.

6. Customer Responsibilities

  • Accurate Information: Customers must provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding the items to be moved, the location, and the destination address. Failure to disclose accurate details (e.g., the number of items or access issues) may result in additional charges.
  • Access and Parking: Customers are responsible for ensuring that proper access to the moving location is provided. This includes securing parking for the moving truck, providing access to elevators (if necessary), and clearing any obstacles that may prevent a smooth move.
  • Valuables and Fragile Items: It is the customer’s responsibility to inform us in advance about valuable or fragile items, including but not limited to jewelry, artwork, antiques, and electronics. These items may require additional packing or handling, and we recommend obtaining insurance for valuable goods.

7. Liability and Insurance

  • DamagesLongwood Movers is fully insured and will take all necessary precautions to prevent damage to your belongings. However, accidents can occur during the moving process. If damage occurs, you must notify us immediately upon delivery, and a claim form will be provided for filing.

  • Standard Insurance CoverageLongwood Movers provides basic liability coverage for your items during transport. This coverage is based on the weight of the item, not its value. If you need additional protection for high-value items, we recommend purchasing supplemental moving insurance, which can be arranged in advance.

  • Customer Insurance: If you choose to use your own insurance coverage for moving, you must provide proof of coverage and confirm the type of protection you have selected.

8. Restrictions on Goods Moved

Certain items are prohibited from being transported by Longwood Movers, including but not limited to:

  • Hazardous materials (e.g., flammable liquids, explosives, or chemicals)
  • Illegal items or substances
  • Perishable goods (e.g., food items that may spoil)
  • Livestock or pets (unless specifically arranged with a pet transportation service)
  • Weapons or firearms (unless legally transported according to state and federal law)

Customers must ensure that all items comply with applicable laws and regulations. Longwood Movers reserves the right to refuse to move prohibited items and will not be held responsible for any violation of local, state, or federal regulations.

9. Delivery and Timeliness

  • Estimated Delivery Times: While we strive to provide accurate delivery windows, exact delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Delays may occur due to traffic, weather conditions, or unforeseen events.

  • Customer Availability: The customer must be available at the delivery address to sign for the items upon delivery. If the customer is unavailable, additional fees may be charged for a return trip or redelivery.

  • Storage Deliveries: If you are using our storage services, we will deliver your stored items upon request. Please provide at least [insert time, e.g., 48 hours] notice for delivery. Delivery times will depend on availability.

10. Limitation of Liability

Longwood Movers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our services, including but not limited to loss of income, inconvenience, or delay in moving. Our liability is limited to the value of the goods moved, as specified by the customer and the terms of our insurance coverage.

11. Privacy and Data Protection

Longwood Movers values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. We collect personal data necessary for providing moving and storage services, including your name, contact details, and payment information. We will not sell or share your information with third parties except as necessary to provide the services you have requested or as required by law.

12. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt to resolve the issue amicably through negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute may be submitted to binding arbitration, in accordance with the laws of the state of Florida. Any legal action arising from these Terms shall be conducted in the state and federal courts located in Florida.

13. Modifications to the Terms

Longwood Movers reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. All changes will be posted on this page, and the “Effective Date” will be updated accordingly. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for any updates.
